Traffic change ahead

The state’s resident construction engineer for the DOT spoke with guarded confidence today that the contractor is going to meet the December deadline for completing Sheep Farm Road near Seneca. Turning what once was a curvy, country road into a four-lane highway has been in the works two years, with general contractor, U.S. Group, facing a December 15 deadline. The DOT’s Ryan Miller says, at this point, he’s “80%-90%” confident all work will be finished on time. Within 30 days, the project will move into a new phase. Part of Oconee Estates Road is to be temporarily closed, restricting access to S.C. 28. On 96.3/WGOG NEWS today, Miller explains how affected traffic can get around that detour.
