Traffic fatality was West Union mother

This morning’s traffic fatality near Westminster was a 28-year old West Union woman.  Coroner Karl Addis says Chasity M. Buckler died at the scene of a head injury.  The accident occurred just before 8 this morning on s. highway 11 near the Armstrong Road intersection.  According to Addis, Buckler’s 24-year old sister was a front seat passenger.  Five children were also inside the car.  They were taken to the Oconee hospital.  One of them was reported to have been transferred to Greenville Memorial.  Three of the children are Buckler’s biological children—ages 5, 7, and 9.  Two of the children, 7 and 9 years old, are her stepchildren.  At the time, Buckler was driving the children to the Fair-Oak Elementary School.  The accident also involved a tractor-trailer truck headed from the opposite direction.  The truck driver was not hurt.  State troopers are investigating the accident.
