Traffic violation leads to brig trouble for two Georgia residents

The trip of two Georgia residents into South Carolina turned into big trouble yesterday in the vicinity of the Oconee-Anderson line.  An Oconee deputy spotted a violation of the traffic rule disregarding a stop sign at SC 243 and the Whitfield Road.  But the truck would not stop until it eventually crossing into Anderson County.  According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, one of two people in the truck tried to flee. Stacey Elizabeth McDougald of Jefferson, Georgia and Joseph Daniel Jackson of Hoschton, Georgia were arrested.  The 38-year old  McDougald was issued citations for disregarding a stop sign, simple possession of marijuana and failure to stop for a blue light.  The 37-year old Jackson was charged in a citation with giving false information.
