Virginia Tech rolls past Furman

furmanBrenden Motley passed for 233 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for another score to power Virginia Tech to a 42-3 victory over Furman in football action Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg. Motley, a redshirt junior making his first collegiate start, completed 16-of-24 passes and connected on touchdown strikes covering 1 and 32 yards to pace the 1-1 Hokies.  He also ran for 38 yards, including a 4-yard scoring run to pace Virginia Tech, which rolled up 583 yards against the 0-2 Paladins.

Elsewhere, Clemson defeated Appalachian State 41-10 at Death Valley. South Carolina fell to Kentucky 26-22 at Williams-Brice Stadium and Georgia defeated Vanderbilt in Nashville 31-14.
