Walhalla Couple Accused of Neglect

A Walhalla couple faces unlawful neglect charges.  Oconee Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jimmy Watt says 32 year old James Morgan Underwood and 34 year old Stephanie Mize lee were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Monday. According to warrants, the address listed is Stribling Shoals Road. According to Watt, on July 9, an agent from the Narcotics Division met with an employee of the Department of Social Services in reference to both subjects and an infant child that the subjects have in common, all testing positive for amphetamines and methamphetamines. According to the arrest warrants, Underwood and Lee are each accused of smoking methamphetamine at an address on East Fairplay Boulevard in Fair Play while Lee was pregnant with their unborn child. Underwood and Lee were released from the Detention Center yesterday on $25,000 personal recognizance bonds each.The infant has been placed in a safe and drug free environment.
