Walhalla Crash Kills Three

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says a Saturday evening car crash near Walhalla High School took the lives of three people from neighboring states. Police say two vehicles hit head-on around 6 pm Saturday on North Highway 11 near Austin Edwards Road in the Pickett Post Community. The coroner has identified one of the fatalities as 51 year-old Wayne R. Oliff, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, who was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck which was travelling south. The other vehicle was a northbound Toyota Camry in which two people died. Addis identifies those victims as 52 year-old Christopher Gene Shackleford of Mount Holly, North Carolina, and his 20 year-old daughter, Kelci. All three individuals died from blunt force trauma. A third passenger in the Camry, Mr. Shackleford’s wife, was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. Her condition is now known at this time.
