Walhalla gets highest opinion

At Walhalla City Hall, an outside auditor paid the city high compliments on how well it accounts for its money. Certified public accountant Jason White delivered an unqualified opinion of Walhalla’s financial ledgers for the year 2012-13. It’s the highest opinion possible, according to White. The auditor gave the mayor and city council the following figures for the 2012-13 year: The general fund showed an increase of just under $59 thousand; the sewer fund reflected a positive change of about $15 thousand and the water fund had a positive change of just over $97 thousand. Once again to meet expenses, Walhalla relied on its water fund which transferred $340 thousand to the general fund. City Administrator Nancy Goehle noted, however, the transfer was less than that which the city had anticipated.
