Construction “quite nicely”

In spite of a rainy year in which contractors gave lost several days of work to the weather, the project to build the new WalhallaHigh School, according to Dr. Michael Thorsland, acting superintendent of Oconee public schools.  “You can see there’s already roof deck on the first floor, so they are preparing to pour some of the second story floors.  You can see the gym walls going up,” Thorsland said as he provided reporters this morning copies of recent photographs at the construction site on SC 11.  Once again, Thorsland said, Trehel, the construction management company at-risk, remains confident that it’ll be able to meet a 2015 completion date for the new school.  And, once the new Walhalla High is opened, what’s next for school district’s building program.  You can hear Thorsland speak on that today on 96.3/WGOG NEWS.
