Walhalla principals assure anxious Tamassee-Salem

The principals at both Walhalla Middle School and Walhalla High School sought last night to assure an anxious Tamassee-Salem community that Tamassee-Salem students will be welcomed at their school.  Scott Dixon of Walhalla Middle and Steve Garrett of Walhalla High also made effort last night to declare a no tolerance policy for bullying.  Tamassee-Salem parents and some of that school’s student have brought up instances that, during previous interactions, they have been made by some Walhalla students to feel like outsiders and, worse, that they are not as worthy as Walhalla students.  Jonathan Head, who spoke last night on behalf of the Tamassee-Salem Middle Student Council, predicts there will be fights.
