Walhalla student avoid jail with a warning
A Walhalla student in whose book bag a knife was found avoided a prison term with a probationary sentence and an admonishment from the General Sessions Court judge. After pleading guilty to carrying a weapon on Walhalla High property in 2015, the student yesterday received a two-year prison term, suspended to two years probation. A search of the student’s book bag revealed a knife—a knife that the student told the judge belonged to a friend. Judge Scott Sprouse told the student to put the offense behind and to study and make good grades.
