Walhalla woman dies in Saturday evening crash

An 18 year-old Walhalla woman died Saturday night in a single vehicle wreck near Westminster. The Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at 8:25 PM on South Highway 11 near the intersection of Mountain and Critter Roads. The Chrysler Sebring, driven by a 17 year-old male from Walhalla, and containing two female passengers, went down an embankment. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says one of those passengers, 18 year-old Autumn Charissa Jordan, of Walhalla, died at the scene from blunt force injuries. Addis says Jordan was the front seat passenger and was wearing a seat belt. The rear-seat passenger was airlifted from the scene to Greenville Memorial Hospital, while the driver was taken by ambulance. Their conditions are unknown. This is the second traffic fatality of 2015 in Oconee County.
