Week of April 10 recognizes dispatchers

In 2015, Oconee’s E-911/Communications Center received more than 85 thousand calls for help.  It’s a job that demands professionalism every day.  During National Public Safety Telecommunicator Appreciation Week, Sheriff Mike Crenshaw recognizes dispatchers everywhere.  The Sheriff’s Office expresses its gratitude also to those whose job it is to maintain the radios and the computer systems that dispatchers and emergency responders rely on.  Rebecca Carter, senior dispatcher, says 9-1-1 also handles calls for the municipal police departments and the county fire and rescue services.
