Weekend Oconee homicide

The Oconee coroner has classified the death early today of 21-year old man as a homicide. And, he says, the Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Coroner Karl Addis identified the victim as Rashean Parker II, of Gastonia, North Carolina and former Pendleton resident. According to Addis, Parker died of a gun shot to the chest and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Parker also suffered cardiac arrest at the incident location, which Addis said was W. Cherry Road near the intersection of J-P Stevens Road. Parker was neither employed, nor was he was student at any of the local colleges. But he did have family and friends in the upstate. An autopsy takes place Monday morning to assist the Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office in the death investigation.
