Westminster teachers take a bus ride!

A week before the start of the school year, some Oconee teachers lived the experience of riding a school bus.  Sherrie McAlister, the first-year principal at Westminster Elementary School, wanted her teachers to know what it’s like for their students who will ride the bus to and from school every day—sometime staying on the bus for up an hour.  Their driver and tour guide of some of the many bus stops was Teresa Maney, a West-Oak High School driver.  Maney has been driving school buses for 21 years.  A cloud cover this morning tamped down the thermometer on the outside, but inside the non-air conditioned buses there is only one way to describe the conditions:  hot.
