What Oconeeans say about bus service

A consultant last night highlighted to Oconee County Council what county residents are saying about the need to expand passenger bus service beyond the Seneca area. Ernie Boughman of the URS Company in Columbia said an updated survey, reflecting responses for a 25-questionnaire, will be ready for presentation by the end of March. Boughman said, so far, more than 300 people had responded. He said 73% of the respondents said they would be willing to pay a fare, provided Clemson Area Transit expands it routes. Council Chairman Joel Thrift, saying there is no such thing as a free ride, said that’s key to the county’s viewpoint.
