Whooping cough shot new requirement for 7th grade

Mass vaccination clinics are being held this summer across the state to immunize children against the whooping cough. The shot is a new requirement for 7th graders to attend school this year. DHEC’s free clinic in Oconee County will take place 9 a-m to 4 p-m Tuesday, August 13 at the Shaver Recreation Complex in Seneca. The Health Department at Seneca on Thursdays this summer offers the vaccine to families with Medicaid at no charge and $13 dollars to families with or without insurance. Your child’s school will require a South Carolina Certificate of Immunization showing that the child has received the Tdap vaccine.
