WHS project GMP finalized

Oconee school trustees agreed last night to allocate nearly $54.5 million for the new Walhalla High School—about $4.5 million above original projections. The guaranteed maximum price will cover the academic buildings and athletic facilities, including a football stadium but excluding tennis courts. Official ground was broken on the graded site on SC 11 in Picket Post preceding last night’s GMP vote by the trustees. Now Trehel Corporation will have a window of about 26 months to meet the district’s plans to have the school ready for classes by August 2015.
