Williamson Attacks, Leads Walhalla To Win Over West-Oak; Seneca edges Greer in Overtime
Walhalla’s Israel Williamson threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 216 yards and five touchdowns Friday night as the Razorbacks defeated West-Oak 58-27. The sophomore Razorback signal-caller shredded the West-Oak defense for a total of 552 yards of offense in Jeremy Grogan’s debut as Walhalla head coach. Walhalla jumped out to a 16-0 first quarter lead before West-Oak caught fire on three big plays off Walhalla turnovers. A 93 yard run and an 80 yard kick return from Dustin Wilkes and a 72 yard pass from Joe Hart to Landon Owens all provided scores for the Warriors and Walhalla held only a 23-20 lead at the half. The second half belonged to the Razors who exploded with touchdown runs from Williamson of 52, 10, and 2 yards. Williamson also scored through the air, connecting with Taylor Johns for 30 yards and Zack Biggers for 25. West-Oak’s Joe Hart completed 9 of 23 passes for 160 yards and Dustin Wilkes finished with 116 yards rushing. WGOG returns to Warrior Field next Friday night as the Warriors play host to Pendleton. Walhalla hits the road to take on Landrum in Spartanburg County. Elsewhere, Seneca edged Greer for the third season in a row, 46-45 in overtime. The Bobcats open their home season against a top-5 Easley team next week.
