Woman found dead, male friend arrested

The body of a missing Georgia woman has been found. Her boyfriend arrested and charged with murder. Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas said the body of  Bonny Anne Cooper was found in a well Saturday in Canon, Georgia, not far from the home of Cooper and boyfriend Brent Schubert. “Over the course of the case we had a lot of leads and interviewed a lot of people.” Thomas said yesterday. “We had information she may be in a well. We searched a number of wells and we got this one last night. We shined a light down the well and this is where we found her.” Shubert was arrested and taken to the Anderson County, South Carolina jail and is to be extradited to Franklin County. According to Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR, investigators combed Cooner’s cellphone records and the contents of a computer, as well as conducted interviews with family, friends and acquaintances, which allowed them to get a detailed picture of Cooner’s life. The woman went missing January 28 and made no contact with friends or family or her son. CBS Atlanta quoted Shubert as saying he last saw Cooner January 28 at home with her son. He said he left for work and later received a text from Cooner telling him dinner was ready, but when he returned home from work, she was not there. He said he went to bed and reported her missing the next morning.
