Woman’s club wins tree display contest

More than 1,500 people cast votes for their favorite tree decorated this year at Duke’s World of Energy in Oconee County.  And the winner of a one thousand dollar donation from Duke was the Cosmopolitan Woman’s Club.  In turn, the club will extend its support of its preferred non-profit charity:  the Collins Children’s Home and Family Ministries.  Shari Roberts, club president, said, “We don’t just donate money, we tutor the children, take them on outings, decorate cookies with them, buy clothing when needed, etc….”  This year’s Festival of Trees at the World of Energy displayed 22 trees.
