Young Tessa Backman: talent in the kitchen!

Tessa BackmanTessa Backman is a third grader at Walhalla’s James Brown Elementary, but she may have a future in the food service industry. Tessa won first place in a healthy recipe competition among Oconee elementary students. Her winning entry was “TLT Spinach Wrap.” The Future Chefs event, held at Seneca’s Blue Ridge Elementary School, was presented by Sodexo, the school district’s food service provider. Walhalla Elementary third grader Loyal Piker received the award for best table decoration. Prince Johnson of Westminster Elementary placed second and Deandra Martin of Northside Elementary placed third.
