Your vote counts today!

This is South Carolina primary election day.  For Oconee County, it’s voting in the Republican primary during regular hours—7 until 7.  With one exception, you go to your regular polling place.  Newry-Corinth voters, however, cast ballots today at the Newry Church of God.  Because of a couple of local contests have fields of more than two candidates, there is the possibility a second vote will be required, a runoff election on June 28.  A recount is necessary when difference between any candidate declared nominated and any other candidate not declared nominated is 1% or less of the total votes cast for all candidates for that office.  Oconee voters today have choices to make for Solicitor and Seats 2, 4, and 5 on the Oconee County Council.
